Lung rupture

Lung rupture is very rare. During a military drill, some horses fell down, and one of them died of copious bleeding from the nasal cavity. Autopsy showed a large amount of blood in the chest (15 liter on the right side, 1 liter on the left side), separation of the pulmonary pleura from the parenchyma, fist-sized rupture in the lung tissue in this separated area and surrounding blood infiltration. (register No. 3023)
