Mesenteric hematoma
The mesenterium in the middle jejunal area of a 9-year-old
horse was dissected into 2 parts, in which blood accumulated (hematoma).
This hematoma weighed about 1 kg. The serosa, the hematoma capsule
wall, was dark red and became gradually thickened. There was a distance
of some centimeters between the attachment site of the intestine and the hematoma and no communication between the intestine and the hematoma. (register No. 4286)
