Hemomelasma ilei
This disease develops in the subserosal tissue in the horse
ileum and is characterized by multiple irregular-sized blackish red
lesions elevated like a relief on the serosal surface. These lesions
are generally interpreted as bleeding foci due to passage of larvae
of Strongylus vulgaris or other parasites through the serosal tissue
and secondary chronic inflammatory lesions. (register No. 4217)
