Glanders
This is an acute or chronic infection in horse due to Pseudomonas
mallei. This disease is not observed at present in Japan but occurs in
other countries, and caution is still necessary. Lesions are observed
in the lungs (photo), nasal mucosa, and the skin. Many specimens stored
in this museum are educationally very precious.
