Ventricular septal defect
A 10-month-old calf with a rare heart malformation.
A circular defect (3 cm in diameter) is present in the ventricular
septum, resulting in communication between the two ventricles.
This caused marked systemic circulatory impairment. In particular,
chronic congestion in the liver resulted in typical nutmeg liver.
